Data Sources

All data points on this website are documented and sourced, and can be reviewed by anyone. The Urban Food Flows platform does not generate its own data, but instead collects and centralizes existing data on urban food flows. For each city in our dataset, there are multiple data sources that are combined to create a data dashboard.

Each city's dataset is contained in an original source file, which we refer to as a master spreadsheet. This is a single spreadsheet per city, containing the final data that has been imported into our system (in the first sheet of this file), and also the original datasets with their sources and further details on their data quality. This additional information is contained in the same file, in different sheets. Where possible, data points in the master spreadsheet are linked so that each point can be looked up in the relevant source sheet.
